Balancing - Some general Hypixel Skyblock suggestions (2024)

Lately Hypixel Skyblock has been experiencing some issues with inflation and the economy, was well as with aspects of new updates, especially Hoppity's Hunt. I have several suggestions that I believe would help some of these problems, although not all.

1. Currently, getting maxed xp/all rabbits from Hoppity's Hunt takes far to long. I personally have opened hundreds of eggs since getting prestige 4, and have never gotten a single legendary rabbit. One thing I believe could help with the high difficulty of maxing the update is to change how you roll for rabbits, and also change the Rabbit Shrine perk. Instead of first selecting the rarity of the rabbit and then rolling for the specific rabbit, the rabbits could be weighted differently depending on rarity. This would enable perks increasing unique rabbit chance, like the talisman, to be slightly more effective; and more helpful for getting the rarer divine and mythic rabbits. Additionally, the rabbit shrine could be changed to give instead of a chance for a higher rarity, to give a chance to activate the rabbit shrine. When the shrine activates on an egg, you would be guaranteed a unique chocolate rabbit. Chocolate prices and chance to activate would almost certainty have to be balanced, but it would reduce the length of the grind for completionists like myself, while not significantly impacting early Chocolate Factory "gameplay."

2. Inflation is currently very high. Although I personally use slime minions, I believe that their rate of coin generation is far to high. I do not have a maxed slime setup, and yet I am still able to generate far more than 10 million coins a day without doing anything. These coins are generated straight out of the void, and require no input from me. These coins result increase of the price of every other item in the game, and people who no longer consistently play the game are able to generate billions of coins a year, and then inject these coins into the Skyblock economy. Another related problem is the price of booster cookies. Booster cookies are very helpful, especially for lower level players, but their high price often gatekeeps newer players from obtaining them. One thing causing this is frequent fire sales; people trying to buy coins with IRL money will buy skins instead of cookies because skins often have a high coin/dollar ratio, and fire sales frequency encourages people to wait for that higher ticket item. One way to reduce this effect on cookies would be to decrease the frequency of these skins, but another would be to increase the volume of each specific skin. Because there are a higher quantity of these skins, they would be valued lower individually and reduce their gem/coin value. Another way to lower the price of cookies would be to lower the gem price of them. Were cookies only, say, 300 gems, more would be purchased and the price would go down. This would benefit most Skyblock players, especially newer players and Ironmen who cannot sell their bits.

3. This is more of a smaller point, but I feel like power creep is getting out of hand. With the new mayor buffs, and other recent additions like onyx and more talisman, even endgame content feels too easy. M7 is no longer difficult for me, and I'm not really that good at the game. Besides for reducing the damage stat on specific overpowered weapons (terminator, hype, claymore), I do not know how this issue could be fixed. Suggestions would be appreciated.

4. Voidglooms have problems, especially with magic items. Spoon can phase skip easily, and I believe that ink wand is still able to one tap voidglooms with crimson armor swipe. The "fix to over damaging" (phase skipping) that the admins put in one of the patch notes specifically because of these items do not work, even a little bit. I see three "problems" with enderman slayer. Spoon skipping, Ink wand tapping, and safe spot hyping. One common trend between all of these methods of cheesing Voidglooms, one of the "hardest bosses" in Skyblock, is magic damage. Hype maging is overpowered for voidglooms, and in my opinion, is abused. One potential solution would be to make Voidglooms completely immune to magic damage like T5 revs and Sven slayers, but I believe that magic should be a possible, just not efficient/good way to kill voidglooms. In Master Mode, most (if not all) mobs have some level of magic resistance. If Voidglooms were given 90% reduced damage from magic weapons, hype would still likely be able to beat a voidgloom, just not efficiently. Another issue is the abuse of "safe spots," where hype mages can safely attack T4's with their hypes without being in any danger themselves. Lower level players would still be able to kill voidglooms with these changes, especially if they helped each other and 2v1ed the bosses, but mage would no longer be overpowered and spoon/ink wand tapping would no longer be quite literally broken. This would also increase the price of judgement cores/terminators, which makes sense as they are currently pretty cheap for their abilities. Terminator is an endgame weapon, and although it isn't currently cheap it is not that expensive wither anymore. Although they would not become much more expensive, increasing the price and difficulty in obtaining this endgame item would increase Skyblock's lacking difficulty.

5. In the new mayor update, the carnival seems a bit too easy. Obviously the event is still in development, I just thought I would point this out from testing on the Alpha; feedback has to go somewhere.

6. Although G-drag is still rather expensive, it is the most absolutely overpowered pet in the game. One change that would increase the price of the endgame pet a little bit would be to change the xp value for levels 101-200 from the xp required to level the pet from level 99->100, to the xp that would theoretically be required for level 100->101. This leveling change would only slightly increase the price and difficulty of aquiring the pet, but I believe it would help with balancing. Additionally, It costs about half as much to buy a second g-drag as it does to buy the first, due to the second g-drag not requiring it's own bank. I personally think this is fine, but I believe a better way to handle gdrag money would be to have up to 1b coins consumed completely, in a profile wide way that allows a player to have their spent money effect all of their golden dragons, but remove the ability to remove the coins. This would probably help decrease inflation by decreasing the amount of pure coins in the economy, and would also require co-ops to consume separate 1b coins. This would also benefit victims of co-op scams; currently the scammer can just take the 1b coins out of the victims bank, and essentially renders the victim incapable of using a gdrag for more than it's magic find. This would also stop people (like me) from taking their gdrag coins out of their bank and impulsively buying stuff.

7. Magical power is extremely strong, but the admins keep adding more of it, and not in difficult to obtain ways either. Although magical power's efficacy does decrease per mp the more you have, (the stats gained from 900->1350 magical power is the same as that from 550->900), and the more stats you have the less %damage each stat gives, magical power is still quite strong. For balancing reasons, I believe that the formula for magical power: [NPC] Maths Enjoyer: Stats Mult. = 29.97(ln(0.0019MP+1))^1.2, should be changed to further increase the drop in magical power efficacy. Tweaking the ^1.2 would be the easiest way to fix this problem, but other solutions could be better.

These are just my thoughts an opinions on various Skyblock issues; feedback and your opinions would be appreciated.
