Hi, I’m Niko! I'm a cuddly and affectionate 1 ½-year-old gentleman looking for my forever home!
I’m a beautiful creamsicle guy with a permanent little smirk and the most mesmerizing light green eyes you've ever seen. My foster mom says you can see into my soul when you look into my eyes. I'm a people-pleasing kind of cat, and my favorite thing in the world is to be close to those that I love. And when I say those that I love, I mean everyone. I'm a friendly guy and the word ""stranger"" doesn't exist in my dictionary. I like to spend my day with my humans. I keep them warm by snuggling them when they sit down, in fact, I'm sitting on my foster mom's lap right now. My most favorite spot in the world is on a lap, particularly with my paws propped up on my human's chest so I can rub my head on their chin. When my humans are standing up, I'm twirling circles around their ankles keeping close tabs on what they're doing. I wear the title ""Velcro cat"" proudly!
Snuggling is my #1 favorite hobby, and 90% of the time, I'm a pretty mellow dude. But once in a while I get sight of a toy with feathers and a bell, and then all bets are off. Those toys are irresistible, and with an exaggerated yet totally intimidating butt wiggle and pounce, I’m off to the races! I can zoom across the room with impressive speed. My foster mom laughs and laughs when I somersault around wrestling my toys. She says I look like a dork when I carry them around dangling from my mouth. But after I get that energy out, I always come back to make up for the snuggle time lost. I'm also a chatty guy. I'm always talking to my foster mom. I've got a quiet yet expressive little ""mew"" and I know how to use it. I tell stories all day long! I say hello when you walk into the room, I say thank you when you feed me wet food, I know when I'm being talked to, and I always reply.
In my spare time, when I’m not busy cuddling or hunting my feathery toys, I like passing the time by looking out the window. I like people-watching and enjoy seeing all of the humans and their animals walking by. I especially like watching leaves, bugs, and birds flying by and think it's neat the way the trees and flowers sway in the wind. You really can learn a lot by observing the outer world. But once again, after getting sidetracked by the window and the beautiful outdoors, I always come back to home base to snuggle.
I currently live in a home with 2 adults, 2 resident cats, 1 resident dog, and a partridge in a pear tree (okay, I made that last part up, there are no birds here). I get along well with my kitty siblings and enjoy their company. I was a little freaked out by the big dog at first, but I’ve learned that if I leave her alone, she respects my space. She’s not so bad after all. Oh, and did I mention I’m great with kids, too? Yep, I’m a real social butterfly. So, if you’ve got another furry friend or a mini-sized human running around, I’m all for making new pals.
I'd love to find a forever home where I can be an active participant in my human's life. I'm a connection seeker and would especially love it if my humans were able to spend lots of time at home with me. I'll give extra brownie bonus points if my humans work from home. I've got a great resume of snuggles and can be easily hired (for free, of course) to keep your lap warm as you work. But seriously, I would love nothing more than to spend my life with humans who love me. My foster mom says my cuddles are magic and that my constant rumbling purr makes the chaotic noise of the world go quiet. I promise I'll do the same for you. So, what do you say?
